Registration opens in August 2016 till 31 October 2016. It will close when all race category slots are completely filled or by the end of registration period, whichever is earlier.

No. We only accept online registration.

A confirmation slip will be sent to your email account.

You should receive the confirmation email within three working days upon successful registration. Otherwise, you may log in to the registration portal with your email address and password to retrieve it. Alternatively, you may contact us at info@swissotelverticalmarathon.com for assistance.

Yes, you may email your changes to info@swissotelverticalmarathon.com. However, please note that an administrative fee of S$15 will be incurred to change your name on the race bib.

Changing of race category is subject to availability and participants have to pay an administrative fee of S$15 for the change. All requests for change must be in writing to info@swissotelverticalmarathon.com. Telephone and verbal notifications will not be accepted. Kindly note that we will not be able to accept any request for change in race category after 2359hrs, 6 November 2016.

Substitution in an individual or team category is subject to availability and participants have to pay an administrative fee of S$15 for the change. All requests for change must be in writing to info@swissotelverticalmarathon.com. Telephone and verbal notifications will not be accepted. Kindly note that we will not be able to accept any request for change in race category after 2359hrs, 6 November 2016.

We do not take in registrations on race day.

A S$30 administrative fee will be applicable for the replacement of a race bib and RACETIME tag. The replacement bib and RACETIME tag can be collected at the information booth on race day. You may contact us at info@swissotelverticalmarathon.com or 9001 7225. Kindly note that both race bib and RACETIME tag need to be replaced even if only one of the two items are missing. The race bib and RACETIME tag need not be returned to the Organiser. We will also not be able to accept any request for a replacement of race bib or RACETIME tag after 2359hrs, 13 November 2016.

Race Details

Swissôtel Vertical Marathon will be held at Swissôtel The Stamford on Sunday, 20 November 2016.

Participants will have to scale 1,336 steps, up 73 storeys.

The race is open to the public and the categories comprise of:

  • Under 20 (Men & Women)
  • 20 – 29 (Men & Women)
  • 30 – 39 (Men & Women)
  • 40 – 49 (Men & Women)
  • Above 50 (Men & Women)
  • Men’s Open
  • Women’s Open
  • Buddies and Besties Challenge
  • Sunrise Team Challenge
  • Corporate Race Challenge

The minimum age for participation is 12 years old.

There is no stipulated cut-off time. However, all participants are encouraged to complete the race at the top of the helipad, where they will receive a finisher medal.

Participants will be flagged off in batches of not more than 8 participants each, at 20-second intervals.

Yes, you may hold onto the railings or take breaks during the race. There is no restriction on how long you take to run up.

Latecomers are allowed to participate but they will however not be entitled to the prizes.

Team timings will be an average of the combined timings of two participants of the same team.

You will be allowed to compete, however you will not receive any timing results or be entitled to the top three prizes.

You will have to bring along a print-out of your (1) confirmation slip that was emailed to you after your registration was completed and your (2) NRIC or passport.

You will receive a race pack containing a Swissôtel Vertical Marathon 2016 participant t-shirt, race bib, RACETIME tag and an assortment of premium products from the sponsors.

Yes, you can authorise someone to collect your race pack if you are unable to do so on 6 November 2016. The authorised person must bring along the following documents:

  1. The completed and signed authorisation letter,
  2. His/her identification card,
  3. A print-out of participant’s confirmation email and,
  4. A photocopy of the participant’s identification card.

About The Race

All participants are allowed to remain on the Helipad for 5 minutes. Participants may take a breather whilst taking in the captivating panoramic views of Singapore. Bottled water will be provided.

The hydration points are located at the start and finish points.

No, we do not provide lunch for participants.

Please ensure that you have your race bib and RACETIME tag. Participants will not be allowed to race if either one of these items are missing.

Participants who cross the finish line will each receive a finisher medal and a personalised e-certificate.

Participants can lodge an appeal by filling up the appeal form at the Information Counter within 15 minutes after the release of the results. A fee of S$50 will have to be paid upfront before the appeal can be processed.

The appeal will be handled by the Appeal Committee consisting of the Event Operations Director, the Race Director from ESG, ESG Timing and the manual timer.

The appeal will be addressed within half an hour after the appeal has been lodged. In the event that the appeal is successful, the S$50 will be refunded to the appellant.

Athlete Support During the Race

The medical stations are located at every 7th floor, start, finish and exit points.

Others

Yes, you will be allowed 5 minutes for photo-taking at the Helipad. Kindly note that the Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or damage.

Stop for assistance at one of the medical stations along the course when you can’t carry on with the race, you can leave the stairway via the exit at each level.

The participant t-shirt, shorts and running shoes.

If the event has not started, the race will be delayed. However, if it rains during the race, participants who are enroute will be able to continue the race and complete at an alternative finishing point. For participants who have not started, the race will be delayed until further notice. Should inclement weather persist, the event will unfortunately be cancelled with consideration to the safety of participants.

Yes, results will be updated on the website at www.swissotelverticalmarathon.com within the week after the race.

As the safety of all participants is of utmost importance to us, the race will be cancelled in the event of persistent inclement weather, a PSI level above 200 and/or any other acts of God that could affect the well being of participants. Should the race be cancelled, please note that the registration fee is non-refundable.
