Any other use of materials on this Site, including but not limited to the modification, reproduction, distribution, republication, display or transmission of the content of this Site, without prior written permission from Swissôtel The Stamford is strictly prohibited. |

Harassment in any manner or form on the Site or any of the Swissôtel The Stamford websites, including via e-mail and chat or by obscene or abusive language is strictly forbidden. Impersonation of others, including a Swissôtel The Stamford employee, host, or representative or other members or visitors on the Site is prohibited. You may not upload to, distribute, or otherwise publish through the Site any content which is libellous, defamatory, obscene, threatening, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, illegal, or otherwise objectionable, or which may constitute or encourage a criminal offense, violate the rights of any party or otherwise give rise to liability or violate any law. You may not upload commercial content on the Site or use the Site to solicit others to join or become members of any other commercial online service or other organization. |

GENERAL |
|
|
|
|
All entries have to be made on the Swissôtel Vertical Marathon online portal. Please note that the organising committee will not be responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete entry details. |
|
|
|
|
Completion of the official online entry form confirms the Participant's agreement to abide by the Swissôtel Vertical Marathon Rules and Regulations. |
|
|
|
The Organiser reserves the right to cancel any race category. |
|
|
|
The participant will have to bear the cost of S$30 for a replacement ChampionChip. |
|
|
|
The Organising Committee will not be liable for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, and howsoever arising from the event. |
|
|
|
Participants who fail to observe the Swissôtel Vertical Marathon Rules & Regulations will be disqualified. |
|
|
|
The judges' decision is final. Any disputes arising from participation will be referred to Arbitration in Singapore, under the law of Singapore Arbitration Court. |
|
|
|
The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these rules and regulations of Swissôtel Vertical Marathon 2011 from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret and in so doing, they will take into account the interests of all the affected participants. Any update on the Rules and Regulations will be notified on www.swissotelverticalmarathon.com. |

The Organiser reserves the right to use any photographs and recordings taken during the event, for legitimate purposes, including commercial advertising. |
|
|
|
The participant must leave the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, Race Director, Referee and/or Security Officer. |
|
|
|
Participants who complete the race in their respective categories will receive a Finisher's Certificate by mail. This will be sent within a month of Race Day. The Organiser will not be responsible for any undelivered certificates owing to incorrect addresses given or lost mail. |
|
|
| |
|
|
REGISTRATION |
|
|
|
Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis, up to 2,100 participants. |
|
|
|
Age categories will be based on your age as of 31 December 2011. Organisers reserve the rights to request proof of age from participants. |
|
|
|
Race category and race entry are strictly non-transferable. |
|
|
|
Registrations are not transferable and there will be no refund of registration fees for race day absentees or if the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. |
|
|
|
Participants of the Lovebirds Challenge comprise 2 members (1 male and 1 female). The finishing time of each team will be based on the slower timing of both participants, who will have to cross the finish line hand-in-hand. Any member of the team who fails to complete the race or adhere to the requirement will result in the disqualification of the team. |
|
|
|
Participants of the Nation Fighters category will have to be from any of the defence force locally or overseas (e.g. Police Force, Air Force, Civil Defence, Navy, National Servicemen). Members of the team have to don their respective force uniform or attire during the race. |
|
|
| |
|
|
RACE |
|
|
|
Participants must wear their allocated Race Bib at all times during the race. Runners without the allocated Race Bib will not be allowed to take part in the race. |
|
|
|
Participants who commence before the actual start time of his/her Category will be disqualified. |
|
|
| |
|
|
INCLEMENT WEATHER |
|
|
|
In the event of inclement weather, the Organising Committee reserves the right to delay the commencement of the race. |
|
|
|
Should inclement weather persist after the delay in race timings, the Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel the race without any refund of registration fees. |
|
|
| |
|
|
MEDICAL ADVISORY |
|
|
|
Whilst reasonable precautions will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the participants' safety, participants are taking part at their own risk and the Organiser will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death howsoever arising during the race. |
|
|
|
Participants are strongly encouraged to consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day. |
|
|
|
Participants are advised against the consumption of alcohol or stimulants or any kind of drugs within 24 hours of their race. |
|
|
|
Participants are to ensure that they are well-rested and well-hydrated on race day. |
|
|
|
Participants are advised to dress lightly. |
|
|
|
Should any participant feel unwell in the course of race, he/she should stop and seek immediate medical attention. |
|
|
|
The Organising Committee reserves the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable (i.e. severe physical harm) of continuing the race. |
|
|
|
|
|
CHAMPIONCHIP® |
|
|
|
Swissôtel Vertical Marathon will be using the new, disposable, ChampionChip. Participants are required to display their assigned Race Bib and ensure that the ChampionChip is securely tied to their left shoelace. Disposable ChampionChips do NOT need to be returned after the event and may be kept as souvenirs. |
|
|
|
There will be no replacement of the ChampionChip. Please ensure that you do not lose it. |
|
|
|
Participants without their ChampionChip will render the Run-Up void as timing will not be captured. These participants will hence not be able to receive their Finisher Certificate. |
